March 11, 2009  Victoria – Thirty-nine British Columbians representing 27 communities throughout the province were honoured today at the sixth-annual BC Community Achievement Awards ceremony held at Government House in Victoria. Province Acquires 15 Properties to Expand Housing 
February 1, 2009  An investment of $34 million to purchase or lease 15 new properties to create and protect social housing will increase the number of locations acquired by the Province by 50 per cent, bringing the total number to 45, Premier Gordon Campbell announced today.

Gordon Campbell Realigns Cabinet to Meet Economic Challenges 
January 19, 2009  Victoria – Premier Gordon Campbell today announced the appointment of Blair Lekstrom as Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources and the appointment of Kevin Krueger as the new Minister of Community Development. The provincial cabinet has also been realigned, creating a new Ministry of Small Business, Technology and Economic Development to be led by Minister Ida Chong. 

British Columbia Enacts New Measures to Support Mining 
December 6, 2008  The Mining Flow-Through Share Tax Credit was introduced in B.C. in 2001, paralleling a federal program. The 20 per cent B.C. Mining Flow-Through Share Tax Credit is available only to individuals. The combined effect of the flow-through share deduction, the federal credit and the provincial credit for an individual investor is to reduce the cost of a $1,000 investment to about $383. 

TD Investment Loan Program has been changed 
November 17, 2008  The current state of the markets when combined with volatility that could extend for an unknown length of time has made it necessary to review and make changes to our investment loan program on a “go forward” basis. In addition, given extreme margin compression that could also extend for an extended period, we are changing our rates and amending our rate structure.
